If an enemy unit is adjacent to one of your units at the end of your turn, that unit will take damage equal to the number inside the red circle surrounding that unit. If an enemy unit is within two spaces of one of your units at the end of your turn, that unit will take damage equal to twice the number inside the red circle surrounding that unit. If an enemy unit is three spaces away from one of your units at the end of your turn, that unit will take damage equal to three times the number inside the red circle surrounding that unit etc., etc.. If an enemy unit is four spaces away from one of your units at the end of your turn, that unit will take no damage! You don't have to worry about moving friendly units out harm's way; they'll automatically move next to any enemy unit that's adjacent to them at the end of your turn!

Each player starts with two melee units and two ranged units in their army. New units can be created by building barracks (melee) or archery ranges (ranged). To build a barracks or archery range, tap on either building and then tap on an empty space in front of one ofyour buildings. New melee troops can be created by training in a barracks while new ranged troops can be created by training in an archery range. It costs 5 gold per troop to train new troops in both buildings. Researching "Swordsmanship" in the barracks will increase melee troop training speed by 25% while researching "Riflemanship" in the archery range will increase ranged troop training speed by 25%.

Once you've trained some new troops, you'll want to equip them with weapons! There are three types if weapons in Aeterna: swordsmen axes (melee), crossbows (ranged), and siege weapons (ranged). Swordsmen axes do more damage than other melee weapons but have less accuracy than other melee weapons Crossbows do more damage than other ranged weapons but have less accuracy than other ranged weapons Siege weapons do more damage than other siege weapons but have less accuracy than other siege weapons . To equip a unit with a weapon, open up their character sheet by tapping on them and then tapping on the swordman axe icon (melee), crossbow icon(ranged), or siege weapon icon(ranged) under "equipment."
